PROFILE

I have always been passionate about the Arts - Photography, Architecture & Design, and that saw me pursue study in Interior Design in Perth and in Sydney.   After which saw an extensive career in the Decorative Building Products Industry in Sydney & Melbourne within the specifier market. From being within the specifier industry and as my contacts grew, so saw the launch of my photography business in 2010 in Melbourne, after studying a Diploma in Photography.

My focus and love being for Commercial Architecture & Interiors, working along side my peers means  I understand  the Designers requirements intimately and the story they are wanting to tell.    They can have full artistic control, or they can hand me the brief and leave it with me to organise and capture.

Working along side Architects and Interior Designers and Certified Kitchen & Bathroom Designers, Builders & Shopfitters,  has been extremely rewarding, especially when my work has been entered for major awards and my clients have won - it's been awesome to be a part of their journey & to share their successes!

My work has been widely featured in local and national editorial publications, and magazine covers.  I have been an active member of the KBDI (Kitchen Bathroom Designers Institute) since it's inception and l thrive on being a part of the community I love so much.

My personal escape out of the hustle and bustle of the city leads me out into nature to pursue Landscape Photography.  First it was just a reason to get outdoors.  Then I began traveling  to beautiful locations around the world and my photography portfolio grew as did my experience and joy to be 'one with nature'.

I was super excited with my first competition entry into the 2016 International Epson Pano Awards, with one of my images "Autumn Glory" making it into the Top 50!  There were approx 4,500 entries from leading landscape photographers from around the world - I was so honored to have my work stand up against the best!  Entering into awards does make you critique your work more closely and from that alone I have grown a lot in my landscape work, which has naturally flowed to all the genre's I capture.

At the end of 2017 saw a recent commission to photograph a new arrival into the family, which saw me quite overwhelmed with emotions that I have not felt previously with my other work - in a good way!  The connection and intimacy that is felt during portrait work is the missing link I have been searching for.   And with that, in 2018 saw me launch into the beautiful world of Newborn, Maternity & Portrait Photography in a more serious manner.  I've undertaken workshops with some of Australia's leading photographers in their field so I can bring the same expertise to my clients.

You might even meet my long suffering partner Steve at some of the bigger photo-shoots.  Steve is the technical brain side of the business as well as the heavy lifter.  I couldn't do it without his continual guidance and support.  We live and breathe photography together, and whist I know I drive him to despair occasionally, we wouldn't have it any other way!

I look forward to working with you.

Warmest wishes,

Vicki Morskate
